As with Israel, Taiwan must be protected because they are a democracy. The economic consequences of a war with China will be catastophic as they are second only to America on trade.
China also has weapons to match ours thanks to the Clinton administration, so if there would be a war, which is unlikey in my view, it would be very messy and throw the world into shock. This could also be used as a distraction by Iran to launch an attack on Israel. It is not hard to see that this scenario could easily be a prelude to Armageddon. With so much going on in the world these past few years, It seems like the world is being set-up for such a climatic event. After all, the signs we were told to watch for have and continue to escalate.

If there is a war between the two countries, America will side with Taiwan- there is no doubt about it. That would be the last thing USA needs right now (especially with the overstretched troops). But, at least this time there will be many countries with us.
