“advocate of democracy”? Because some of us may be Democrat, does it mean we are “a democracy”? The United States is a Republic, which ON OCCASION uses democratic methods to accomplish its purposes; a republic is a “thing” while democracy is a “process”. We need not all be “Republicans” to be patriotic citizens of a republic. The use of democratic method does NOT make us a democracy. If that were the case, we should have allowed the South to vote on desegregation; Robert KKK Byrd could then be their presumptive leader, instead of the old fool he proves himself daily.
