why doesn't the U.S just stop trading with the foreign countries so it doesn't become an epidemic or we should just kill at the birds and other animals that are infected by this virus?

Avian influenza

The UN says that the H7 strain of bird flu previously undetected in Asia has been found in North Korea.

In 1998 we had already observed cases of Avian Flu passing from birds to other animals (horses) who then passed it on to humans during the outbreak in Hong Kong. If it can go from mammal to mammal we are in some deep manure without a comprehensive plan already in place. In 1918 20 million died of a new influenza strain, I am not sure what numbers are today for annual deaths from the flu maybe in the 1 million range, but thanks for pointing out that yesterday was the time to get rolling on a plan.
