I think that having a seperation of intelligence agancies and what they can do with what they find is a good thing — to some extent. You don’t want the CIA just randomly spying on citizens. But on the other hand, you don’t want terrorist to be free to do what the 9/11 hijackers did.

It might be proper that Intel go to a court/judge for review before being handed to the FBI, like what happens with organized crime now.

It’s a delicate balance, freedom and finding the bad guys.

Does anyone know what the Patriot Act says about this, if anything?

Yes I was kidding, Wilson was a stooge for partisans in the CIA. Able Danger must have some legs, the Left spin machine is pointing out it began during the Clinton Administration. Funny how this is really about the Patriot Act’s necessity, they of course are against. Just like Democrats wrote legislation in the 60’s & 70’s prohibiting the CIA from passing on information to the FBI, because for some reason, Soviet money financing domestic unrest was ok, grass roots free speech! John Kerry didn’t like it that the FBI monitored his Winter Soldier organization. Since Kerry considered communism just another form of government to provide for “felt needs” of its citizens, why should we worry about it. I mean, who cares if we had Soviet spies in the State Department!!!!
