The reason why they do this is because they get away with it. The Repubs. just don’t have the killer instinct that the Dems do. Do you think Harry Reid would put up with the Repubs if they did this? The problem is the Repubs. have no backbone and the one’s that do,(Gingrich, Delay, Lott,etc.) are pushed out. Look what the GOP did to Trent Lott for some inocuous statements, look at Rick Santorum and the President himself, campainging for that idiot Specter against a true conservative. The President and his party routinely let the Dems. say the most deeply insulting and outrageous things and don’t fight back, the President doesn’t even use proxies to battle for him, where the hell is Cheney? He just lets himself be pilloried from pillar to post! If the President won’t stick up for himself and his administration then, you know what, maybe he deserves all the vitriol that he gets!!!!
