The above comments you just why progressivism is, in fact, a reactionary ideology with no more idea of politics than infantile namecalling. It really is pathetic to see these people knucke-dragging their way through the first decade of the 21st century. Aside from their corrosive hatred of America and George W. Bush, and their seemingly ungovernable desire to celebrate all that is ugly, vulgar and stupid, it's difficult to see what inspires them. Looking over this gallery of ideological freaks, from Michael Moore to Cindy Sheehan, I can only say that President Bush is fortunate indeed in his enemies. They'd make Vlad the Impaler look good.

President Bush an idiot? What a hateful thing to post. You're gonna get coal in your stocking. Rick, your fans are usually much more civil and well...intelligent. Bush is a TWO term President who has increased Republican seats in both houses of congress. He has brought freedom, or the hope of freedom to millions. He's made available BILLIONS in aid to those on other continents. He has championed those people of faith, of all faiths, who have been made to feel marginalized in our society for a long time. I think Bush Rocks. He's here to stay, God Willing, so learn to deal with it. And oh yeah, we are out here listening and feeling strengthened and encouraged and optimistic for the future. Merry Christmas!

Rick,
What a childish ending to an otherwise good post. Geez... Can't we get through even one post without calling the other party names.

Having invested so much in the intellectual debate over the years that Republican control of our government would yield utopia, the apologists now live in denial like a battered housewife unable to leave the abuse.

As a life long republican, I just can't understand why we support this idiot. It’s like we've allowed the three stooges to run everything; but it ain’t funny and nobody’s laughing. He was a failure as businessman, and at best, a mediocre governor; and he’s pretty much continued on that course as a president.

Everyday it seems something new comes out that this administration has done something questionable, stupid or out right illegal. I’m really not sure that this president knows the truth from the lies anymore.

I really miss the day when all I worried about was if the president was getting a blowjob or not. When are we going to say enough is enough…..

Pardon me, but the Iraq expedition is an unmitigated disaster and waste of resources. It has not accomplished any of the needed goals and only affected terrorism by providing a more convenient field of action. Iraq posed no threat and was no home to terrorists. Why are we having a discussion about how Bushy looked on television making an argument for a policy that is wrong on its face? Similarly the NSA story is much more consequential that the readers here wish to recognize. Bush has far overstepped his bounds and demonstrated, again, his very poor judgement and his limitless thirst for power.

He has added nothing to our security and damaged our treasured values of privacy. What's to celebrate?
