Geez, I wish the ostensibly 'Conservative' Detroit News would grow a pair like the 'Trib. It looks like a smidge of sanity could come into the debate and we may actually...eventually agree on the terms of the actual argument about the War.

Looks like the Tribune is cutting and running from the war on the war on terror. Or is it just a temporary setback for the editorial staff...

If I had to guess, I would say the Trib is trying to gain some sort of credibility as a centrist paper in preparation for trying to claim Blagoyevich is a good candidate and worthy of re-election.

Us downstaters feel your pain about the Trib, I have to deal with the State Journal Register here!

Just want to jump in before JASON brings his own Crap-0la to your article.
The MSM, at all times, is fighting the liberals fight so one hast to ask why would they now bring us an article that shows us they all along had a brain and knew the reasons for our war on terror. The MSM has fueled the fires on all stupid theories on why Bush is bad. So why now?
My guess, and I am willing to be corrected, is that after they and the liberals have fired all their arrows and missed, they feel the need to get the DemoCraps straightened out for the '06 elections. At the moment the dems look like unfaithful citizens, who will vote for them? Sheehan and a few others, not enough to get control of anything. So the MSM is leading the way back to sanity. Still others will fall in line also but if they think that they have a winning issue to hurt Bush, they will be back to Bush Is Bad. Right now they are cutting their loses, hiding their venom, trying to breath life into libs. Yes the libs will be reabilitated ( you can fool some of the people some of the time) Will they fool enough, don't think so. Must wait to see. If I am right Rick, you'll post more and more articles from the Press having this amazing re-thinks! Dont' buy it for a minute, once a unfaithful ass, always an unfaithful ass.
