As far as Fat Hobbit Lin is concerned, he was not quite worthy of many super powers in Middle Earth. Tolkien junkies who have watched the extended edition of Fellowship will remember that even Galadrial didn't give him "one of those nice shiny daggers." Instead, he got enchancted rope (not what you really want in the face of Orcs and terrorists).

Not to mention that I question his judgement in dumb dealmaking with evil geek. THink, if Jack had just been allowed to torture the guy for a good long while Anessa would not have had as much a reason to plug him...she would not have to be around him anymore.

I too wonder where "Anessa" got the gun. As a sex slave who hated her master, if she knew where that gun was, she would have used it long ago. Why now? Qui Bono? Ahhh! That was the time when the man was about to lead Jack to Ivan the Terrible. What a coincidence!! I don't think so! There is more to this girl than meets the eye (or at least to be credible).

This is my first season to watch 24, and so far I have found it interesting and entertaining. Is anyone else out there suspicious of "Anessa", as far as being a victimized sex slave? It seemed plausible to me that she was working with with the bad guy, and the way she handled and used the gun could support that idea. I'm suspicious of her reasons for shooting the guy. Why does Jack always speak in a near whisper? Has Chloe always had such a big chip on her shoulder? I haven't found the show to be slow moving at all, but I'm a new viewer. Sometimes it seems that there's too much going on for just an hour having passed.

i have thought that the story has been a bit 'slow' but then have begun to think that it is a little meat to a more sophisticated audience, especially those of us who have watched for 4 years. they've been 'growing us up' along the way. i also think it's part of a big build up until all hell breaks loose which will be VERY satisfying. and i think that when the story line involved characters in the administration proper, there would be less violence. i wondered about jenny's partner checking linn's wallet for cash and/or other things and then taking it with him, too. may be nothing. bringing icky kim into ctu was kind of a weird way for audrey to deal with her. (did my eyes deceive me or was the machinist the same guy who played chase [kim's husband]only with a beard and hair????)
did you notice that audrey handled it a lot better when jack was having curtis stomp on rosseler's leg? seems like she's beginning to get the urgency of torture. i had a little question mark pop up in my head when i saw walt hanging by his tie, but could go either way with it. and it seemed to me that spencer should have had his sweet self tossed in jail.

Hobbit & Junkie Sister by the dumpster joins Kim & The Cougar as non-candidates for "24 Great Moments" DVD.

"Jellyfish and Crazy Martha writing a letter together" fails to reach "did you see" level of "Jack & Cummings' right eye extraction"

"Hi Kim. This is Audrey. You remember me ... William Devane's daughter ... the blond married to the guy your dad let die after he tortured him. Listen, I was wondering ... we're trying to save the world again down here at CTU and were wondering if you'd like to come down and help out. You could help Chloe do protocols, keep Edgar in Twinkies or even perform surgery in the infirmary since our only doctor was killed a few hours ago. Let me know so I can get you a Level 5 clearance. Hope you can make it ... Audrey."

Hmm, Jenny didn't rob him after he wouldn't give the money, that was the plan all along as witnessed by her "boyfriend" opening the wallet to ensure he had secured the CTU card, then pocketing the wallet in toto instead of dropping it and running with just the cash.
