the italians are dirty cheaters. there league is corrupt. what makes you think that they will not cheat in the world cup? that call against the aussi’s was terrible. i beleive that ref walked home with some cash in his pocket.

that ref was so retarded. I can’t believe he threw out Mastoeni. What was up with that? It should have been a yellow card at the most or even just a foul. I wish he had been expelled. Did you hear that he reffed the final game? I think that is the only reason Italy won. The Italian team was bribing him. Did you hear that the Italian team is being checked out in Italy by the police for illegal gambling? They should have been kicked out of the world cup!

Twice USA has gone thru with a 1-1-1 record in group play, which is an indifferent performance. If this time, we end up 1-1-1 and do not go thru, we can’t complain of cosmic injustice. We have had a couple breaks with that result in 1994 and 2002.

Since corruption runs rampant in the third world, and I seem to recall a story regarding some little country or other making rules about what bribes the refs could and couldn’t accept, and I expect third world soccer refs to be as historically corruptable as any other third world group, I believe it will be awhile before the U.S gets a fair shake in soccer.

Face it, most of the world seems to hate us, do you think they’d have a problem cheating with a crooked ref to beat us at some game?

Insteresting thing about the ref in that game. Apparently, he was not allowed to ref in the last WC because of “irregularities” in his calls. Imagine that. I doubt he’ll see another WC game again. He about ruined the game.
