Robert,

Creating dictators to fight dictators is never a good policy. Neither is the business of Iran Contra which was the Regan years.

Rob,

Tough to argue with such a fact filled and reasoned line of thinking as this:

Reagan loved and armed Saddam.
Bush I loved and armed Bin Laden.
Kennedy was a big hero for trying to kill Castro. Republicans would have rather "done business" with him.
Slick Willie was a tough president who went to war against Milosivic out of his hatred for tyranny.

Try this Rob.

1. The U.S gave tacit support to Saddam in an effort to undermine Iran, considered a graver threat to the West than Saddam at the time. In effect, Republicans sought to undermine the greater tyrant of the two.

2. The U.S gave support to Afgani's fighting against the Soviet Union, considered a graver threat to the West than Bin Laden and crew at the time. In effect, Republicans sought to undermine the greater tyrant of the two.

3. President Kennedy was nothing like the leftists of today who love Fidel and his dead pet Che Guevarra as icons. Try finding a leftist today who dislikes Fidel or Che or "President" Huggy Chavez. President Kennedy understood the threat of the Soviet Union and its satelites, like many in his party at the time. Try finding one today in the Democrat Party.

4. Holding up Clinton as a tyrants bane is laughable. Milosivik was without a doubt a tyrant, but his removal under the watch of the Clinton administration had far more to do with PR than any deeped seeded hate of tyranny close to Clintons heart. While were on the topic, do you regard Clintons failure to achieve any success in North Korea and the transfer of nuclear technology to the Chi Coms as part of Clintons status as a tyrant fighting warrior?

Better luck next time. Nice doing business with you!

I fail to see how the rhetorical excesses, paranoia, and hypocricy of leftists who support ostensibly leftwing dictators should influence third party opinion regarding Bush and some his opinions regarding his plenary powers to act without any oversight.

Are you implying that anything less than full support of every claimed power regarding any sphere of public life related to the GWOT is objectively helping the leftwing nutjobs &/or Al Queda?

Brent,

To correct your statement about the Left and dictators, it was Regan who loved and armed Saddam and Bush I who loved and armed Bin Laden. As far as Fidel, the Left under Kennedy tried to assainate him, not do business with him like a Republican would. And Clinton went to war against Milosivic, again instead of trying to do business with him instead like a Republican.

Better luck next time...

I give our Prez best wishes, and pray on his behalf for guidance...I fear it may be lacking.

Something that Bush and his White House associates seem to have forgotten: There's a fine line between Christian charity and outright naivete'.

Well I agree with the Huffington Post comment about Bush destroying the Constitution, but what the heck does the Left know about preserving the Constitution? Liberalism's bedrock is the evolution and erosion of the Constitution!

Rick,
Just like Lil Kim, moonbats are so ronery. From Seabrook's book Among Strangers, He was asked by a Russian official about bread production for St. Petersburg. He said, "We understand the importance of the free market, but could you tell me who is in charge of bread production for London?" Seabrook considers it an innocent question, but remarks the answer is absolutely devastating. "no one" Liberals hate the fact that in a democracy, no one is in charge. Their ultimate form of government is an activist Supreme Court, in charge. They used to have total media control, but have lost that as well. Reporters just can't comprehend that they are ignored too. Democracy is a liberals dictatorship, because the dynamics of human interaction in a free and open market of ideas is something they can not control.
