Geez. I despised Clinton when he was president, yet it would have shocked and saddened me if he’d been assassinated.

I’m not worried about the President being assassinated. The secretive service are too good to allow that to happen. Of course, it might happen–as Michael Corleone said, “If history has taught us anything, it’s that you can kill anybody”–but it require an extremely rare breakdown in security for it to occur.

I’m more worried about someone else in a leadership position. Say, the leader of an anti-immigration group or an English-only advocate or a Republican, for that matter. Someone with far less protection.

When it becomes accepted to use vitriol and vulgarity, condescension and calls for violence against your opponent, how far are we from riot and anarchy?

As long as the left openly embraces assassination as an acceptable recourse to reasoned debate, the situation is only going to become more volatile. And eventually someone is going to get killed.

And then what?

Oh and in the Coulter post you link to above, you seem to spend more time disparaging liberals for calling her actions racist because you seem to be fixated on a literal interpretation of the word.

For your information, the word racist (or racism) applies to discrimination or hostility towards religion or ethnicity as well as just race (look it up).

You should probably try to understand that as you talk down to those on the left, you’re using concepts that most of us put behind us in grade school. We’ve moved on to larger issues.
