Thanks for your tribute to Canadians in Afhganistan. Thanks also for your discussion on the second battle of Ypres. Some other points on that battle. The Canadians not only held their lines they also held the lines of their allies to the right and their left who abandoned their lines in the face of the same gas attack, without gas masks. Had the Germans broken the line they may have been able to turn the allies' flank and may have won the war. The British General in charge said that he was invisioning the darkest day in the history of the BEF (British Expeditiary Force)unitil he heard the Canadians had held.

At least half of all Canadians oppose "our" involvement in Afghanistan. Most of the rest don't understand why we're there. If they did, they'd oppose it, too.

There is nothing more noble than giving someone their freedom.

I could not be more proud of my country and its role and I feel blessed to count my American neighbours as friends.

(there's that dang "u" popping up again)

The fact that so few Americans know that Canadians and Danes are fighting and dying beside us and the Brits in Afghanistan says all one needs to know about the mainstream media in the this country. They are so invested in defeat, not just in Iraq but everywhere.

Thanks, Canada.

Reach out and touch somebody... Canadian style

In todays other Conservative sponsored news stories, Taliban assholes puckered up and seized tight... all over the Panjwaii.

"At 5:10 p.m. local time, a Canadian tank fired its first shot in combat in five decades. It was followed by a second blast at the Taliban a few moments later, the boom of the 105-millimetre cannon echoing off the rocks."

Sorry Timmy, <a href="http://hallsofmacadamia.blogspot.com/2006/12/were-talkin-major-pucker-factor.html" rel="nofollow">no more Mr. Nice Guy.</a>

<strong>"Let's hear it for the maple leaf"</strong>

An American blogger tips his hat to our troops in Afghanistan. But it doesn’t seem to faze the Canucks. They continue to soldier on, taking the hard jobs that others eschew. It is safe to say that without the Canadian...

Thanks Rick

While I did not serve in my country's military, I had three uncles who served during WWII, and one didn't come home.

Our military was decimated by the Liberal government, but our military members are as proud and as well-trained as any US military unit and will fight as hard to defend freedom.

And don't forget, we did kick some serious butt during that little border skirmish in 1812! :-)
