I’m an unabashed progressive radical and visit your site rarely. But on this topic, I must wholehartedly agree with you. I have had it with Hillary Clinton and her wavering, fly with the wind, pablum spouting rhetoric. She learned well from the master of wavering. Has she taken a stand for anything? I know that some “liberals” will probably skewer me for saying this, but I want neither Hilly or Obama running. Neither one has any real stand. Where was she leading up to this debacle in Iraq. I am a retired Master Sergeant who has served in Afghanistan and Iraq before retiring in 2004. I could not take any more of the devistation going on there and am just sick of the bullcrap that all the politicos(both elected and media tramps)are spewing. The only politician who had and has really stood up for us(the troops) is Russ Feingold. If any of you out there know anyone serving in the real Iraq and Afghanistan(not the Green Zone partiers), please let them know that you care. Get the real story from those of us who have been targets for the last four years. Don’t let the press dictate your thoughts(and that’s from either side). I believe that real discussion and appreciation of both sides of the argument matter. “Righties” and “Lefties” deserve their say. This is the America that I believe I served for. Merry Christmas(yes, progressives can believe in God too, despite what no serving, draft dodgers on both sides say. Don’t letthese hacks take away your individual thoughts. We Americans are a lot smarter and more in touch with the real world than they think. We aren’t seduced anymore by the “Washington Celebrity Status”. Tell us the TRUTH and we can deal with it. The last election was a wake up call and they still aren’t getting it. We the people will get rid of the Demos too if they keep this up. Nay to Hillary.

Well put,I am a life long Democrat, but have felt since the Calerence Thomas hearings, the Democrats lack balls. They tried to play fair and the Republicans played to win. Albert Gore tried to play fair and Bush stole the election. In a inmoral and unethical war, our Democratic leaders tried to sound republican, tough on national sercurity and now look just as dum as Bush. The exceptions; Howard Dean, Al Sharpton and the former mayor from Cleveland, Dennis K were made out to be nuts by their own party. Howard Dean would have provided a clear different direstion for voters. Obama spoke out against the war, but as a state Senator, he did not have a vote. The Obama of today more than likely would have supported the party’s power base and the war. On a local Chicago basis, both Jacksons, Congressman Jesse Jackson JR and his father Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr were strong in their war opposition.Come visit blackinbusiness.org

I agree with your fine post today. I don’t think Hill will be elected, either. May be wishful thinking but I think it’ll be a McCain/Clinton race and McCain can win.

One small addition to this excellent analysis. Modern presidental politics seems to require a “likeability” factor. Ms. Clinton lacks this factor to the nth degree.

I once watched then Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton during a reception talking to one person after another. One man came up to him complaining about an issue affecting workers in the Northeast portion of the state. Clinton listened intently and after a moment took his hand, shook it firmly and told him he understood the problem only too well and that he would work it out. Not long after this, another man spoke to Clinton about the same issue but from the perspective of the employers from that part of the state. Again, Clinton listened intently and after a moment took his hand, shook it firmly and told him he understood the problem only too well and that he would work it out.

I do not believe Clinton lied to either man. I think he really believed he could find middle ground acceptable to both.

I am not one of Clinton’s supporters - Bill or Hillary. But I do believe Bill was far more suited to this kind of approach than Hillary ever will be.

I am woman and Hillary is NOT for me. I don’t trust her and it has nothing to do with her being a liberal … it has everything to do with the 3 or 4 faces she totes around in her pocket to put on depending on what part of the country she’s in and who she’s talking to.

I supported the war, but had I known how incompetently it would be handled, I might, in retrospect, not have done so. We have spent hundreds of billions of dollars, our image throughout the world has declined, and Iraq is a mess. What is so terrible about Hillary Clinton’s position?
