Apparently, the conscious decision has been made that maintaining a corrupt, incompetent, ineffective, sinkhole for money is better than withdrawing from the UN. So we seem content to pay for the privilege of arming our enemies, propping up dictators and terrorists, allowing genocide, and subsidizing human rights abuses.
