I think Jack told the Prez that he OWES Jack. The Chinese have asked for a device (presumedly the nukes) for Audrey. But how did the Chinese know so quickly it was over--bad plot hole on the part of the writers, a mole in CTU, or some type of transmitter they put on/in Jack?

I have to say that the plot point that had Jack clinging to the bottom of a moving garbage truck and using his cell phone at the same time provided a moment of needed levity amidst all of the cleverly constructed tension.

I'm also looking forward to next week's delivery on the promise of Jack's growled "Mr. President, you don't own me!" in the preview!

Thanks for all the great recaps, Rick. I'm a regular (and, , liberal) reader.

Jack's transformation reminds me of T.E.Lawrence's transformation in "Lawrence of Arabia". Lawrence had been brutalized by the Turkish officer. We then see Lawrence riding in pursuit of the retreating Turkish forces.
The character played by Omar Sharif is aghast at the hired assasins that Lawrence has with him. Just before the charge to what was to be a total massacre of the Turkish forces, Lawrence shouts, "take no prisoners". Jack may have made it to the point of no return.

It's Pakistan not Saudi Arabia. Of course, the show doesn't actually name the country except to say Fayed's country, but that's what it is. As you said, the internal government officials supporting terrorists, the tenous hold that government has on its power, all indicate either Saudi Arabia or Pakistan. The clincher is their Ambassador looks more Hindi than he does Arab.

There are still some loose ends from the earlier plots that need to be tied up.

What was Jack's father really up to and where is he now?

How far did the plot to kill Wayne Palmer go? A few are gone but clearly it was bigger than the assassin and the presidential aid.

I think these loose ends are somehow connected with Audrey's disappearance.

There have to be some plot turns with seven episodes remaining.

There has to be a mole. How did they know when to call jack. The Chinese are involved with the nukes. Once they heard from the mole, they called Jack.

What about President Logan?

I think this weeks show was very good.

Somebody really needs to tell Keifer how to hold a pistol in a proper tactical stance without looking like a dolt. That's a poor imitation of the Chapman stance and pretty ugly.

Long time reader ... thanks for all your efforts Rick.

When Jack began his "final assault", didn't he squeeze off a single shot that killed two bad guys? I replayed the scene a couple of times and it looked as if he lined them up just right.

If so, the writers must have wanted to make up for Jack needing three bullets to kill those two bad guys when saving Milo by the dumpster.

Anyway, hope you feel better soon. Keep up the great work!
