So… with Huckabee’s win tonight are “real conservatives” ready to take on the Religious Right in order to save the Republican party?
1:07 am
McCain’s the big winner tonight thanks to Romney’s flop. Check out InTrade!
1:14 am
Damn right.
2:05 am
I am. Lets kick some Hucktard ass.
-Always bet on Fred!
8:44 am
Actually, Huckabee is a Religious Lefty.
This is what happens when a bad decision leads to a horrid law, it creates confused voters. Further, if Roe vs Wade had never happened there would be no political Evangelical movement. If Americans want to get Evangelicals out of politics then overturn R v W.
It’s true, God works in mysterious ways.
10:22 am
Huckabee in NH. Non-player.
McCain in NH? No chance as Independents vote for Obama.
Romney wins NH and people will, forget Huck ever won Iowa.
Ronald Reagan lost Iowa.
11:47 am
Dear Republican Party,
I hope you’re happy with what you’ve created. You’ve managed to drive almost all independents from even considering your crop of utterly pathetic candidates. You won in 00 and 04 by pandering to the evangelicals, even though the rest of us know you can’t stand them. Doing that gained you the entire US government for several years and you squandered it. Now you give us these candidates? These pathetic excuses for presidential candidates?
This is honestly the best you can do? Hell, I can think of 5 people in my personal life that would make better presidents than these guys. I WISH that the word Republican was synonymous with Conservative like it seemed to be in the past. Unfortunately it’s synonymous with evangelical lunacy now. Congratulations. You invited “the base” into your bed and now that you’ve woken up and the drunken haze of power has cleared I think you’re realizing the horrible nightmare of a mistake you’ve made.
Thanks for providing me with absolutely nothing to look forward to. It’s now time to start examining the alternatives.
Sincerely,
An Independent
11:58 am
My thoughts almost exactly.
12:13 pm
Reagan brought the evangelical movement into the GOP fold after they were betrayed by Southren Baptist Progressive Leftist Jimmy Carter.
If you want Evangelicals out of politics overturn Roe vs Wade.
It’s ironic that the very ones who want Evangelicals out of politicals are the very ones who forced them into politics.
If you want Evangelicals, who are neither right or left but one-issue, then overturn the issue which forced them out of the church.
PS: I’m not an Evangelical and don’t go to church but I do think that Huckabee like Carter has sold his soul to the devil
12:40 pm
Bill Mitchell,
Ronald Reagan did lose the 1980 Iowa Caucus… but he did place second with 30% to George H. W. Bush’s 32%...
As for New Hampshire, they did chose Pat Buchanan over Dole in ‘96, so they aren’t above choosing freaks in NH.
