Buckley isn't like today's Conservatives. He actually had an education. This current group of conservative "scholars" are nothing but ideologically driven hacks who are on the take from nutter stink tanks.

Imagine my chagrin when I hear that my viewpoints are being expressed at NYT by Bill Kristol, one of the biggest idiots God ever put guts into.

That said, Buckley was wrong about welfare, wrong about warfare and everything he predicted would happen didn't.

Nice tribute though

God bless this libertine libertarianist! Who has bollucks to follow in his shoes?

The central point of his handsome tribute, as far as I can tell is, "nothing contrary to reason".

In that, William Buckley was very much a son of the Church of Rome.

I daresay the vastness of his life is in spite of that central point.

For, there is more to life than what can be explained. This is the lesson I take from the life of William Buckley.

William F. Buckley was a true genius, a richly unique gentle man and will be missed by many who never even met him.

I'd like to add my own tribute to Mr. Buckley. I am most definitely not a conservative, and I often disagreed with Mr. Buckley, but I never doubted his intellectual integrity or the solidity of his thinking. The man really was a phenomenon, and he always gave me good reasons to question my own thinking. You learn the most from the people with whom you disagree, and I think I learned a lot from Mr. Buckley. Modern American conservatism falls well short of the high intellectual standards Mr. Buckley lived by. The world is a lesser place with his passing.
