How does a guy from Chicago get the cajones to even suggest he's a reform candidate? Winning an election there practically guarantees the opposite.

I'm waiting with baited breath to see which MSM outlet will pick up the Tony Rezko buy/flip of Obama's garden/yard.

Hi Rick...Great article....One other item needs attention. Obama's flowery (and undeserved) endorsement of that hack Todd Stroger for Cook County Board President in 2006.

http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2006/11/obama_endorses_.html

Daley's brother John is the finance chairman of the county board. He wouldn't have been had Tony Peraica won in Nov. 2006.

As you know Rick, because of "Toddler," Chicago residents will have to pay the nation's highest sales tax (something John Daley supported when the tax increase was first proposed). I'm in suburban Cook, paying a tiny bit less, but too much considering what we get out of these ward-heelers.

There's a silver lining for your town, Rick. Communities bordering Cook County can expect extra business from consumers avoiding the higher sales taxes.

Good God! I didn't know that Obama endorsed Toddler. Of course, the Cook County Board is the most corrupt political entity in Illinois. Reformers rarely even bother running anymore.

One thing about that Stroger endorsement; it doesn't really track with the timeline. Daley endorsed Obama on December 20 while Obama returned the favor a month later. That early November endorsement of Stroger may have been a signal to Daley that he'd play ball but I don't think it was part of the deal itself.

I rather suspect that the clincher was a promise from Obama that he would remove Patrick Fitzgerald from the U. S. attorney's office, and replace him with someone who meets with Hizzoner II's approval.

"Compassionate conservative", "humble foreign policy", "restore honor and dignity to the White House". Yep, politicians always tell the truth on the way to the White House.

As for the endorsement, have you entertained the possibility that Daley endorsed Obama because Obama is from the same city and state as Daley? Would it not be a shock if Daley didn't endorse Obama, much like it would have been a shock if Eliot Spitzer hadn't endorsed Clinton? Occam's Razor and all that?

The shocker isn't that Daley endorsed Obama but that Mr. Clean Obama endorsed the corrupt Daley at the expense of a reform candidate. Wouldn't be surprised if the Tillman endorsement wasn't part of the deal too.

It is completely shocking – considering that the hypocritical asshole who is doing the endorsing is piously proclaiming that he’s a different kind of politician than everyone else.

Oh, please. Every presidential candidate in my lifetime (I'm a year or two older than you, if I recall correctly) has said as much. This is a big nothing.

You know what would impress me coming from the right side of the blogosphere? A post actually supporting McCain. I'm willing to bet the ratio is ten attacks on Obama for every kind word spoken about your own candidate.

And the attacks are so lame. Obama the cult leader! Obama the . . . gasp . . . politician! Obama who doesn't wear a flag pin! Oh woe.

You got nothing on Obama, (so far, at least,) and you've got nothing good to say about your own guy. Let me ask you: does that feel like a winning combo for November?

And none of this is being covered by the national media and never will, they are busy "Making themselves a President" either Hillery or Obama it does not matter as long as it is a socialist Democrat and the typical voter is ignorant and believes the BS hope/change message the Messiah (pbuh) is putting out never bothering to research and find out that Obama is a Chicago Daley machine corruptocrat.

Does anyone else notice how large cities that are ratholes, are mostly run by democrats? They do such a bang up job don't they? No wonder Chicago is losing residents. Good luck, I feel for you!

On primary night, we here in Texas were hearing of the dirty dealings of Obama campaign workers who were grabbing up the caucus packets and removing the green sheets where people signed in, during caucus, and having voters sign them at the polls. That, to those who don't know the Texas Two Step rules, is illegal.

I am not saying that these campaign workers were under the direction of Obama himself who had quit campaigning in Texas the week before, but someone from the Obama campaign needed to tell it's volunteers what the rules were. It seems that Hillary's workers didn't have that problem and were well instructed.

My 84 year old step mother, who lives near Waco, told me that when she got to the caucus that night to vote for Hillary (yeah, she's a Democrat) that she was asked who she was going to vote for by a man with an Obama pin on. She told him "none of your business" and he tried to block her way saying the caucus room was full. Twenty minutes later, when she and the rest of her blue haired friends got in the caucus room (held at the high school gym) she said all the forms signed were for Obama and they had to locate the sign in sheet for Hillary. She also told me that the gym was not full of people to the point they should have waited to get in.

There was some real shananigans going on that night. El Paso and San Antonio also reported shady tricks with the caucus green sheets. If there are not investigations into this, there should be.
