Wait until you see what they do to Taiwan. And none of our candidates even has a published position on what to do to the current administration’s “One Chine” policy, which does nothing but feed the status quo.

Good article, Rick. Even if China believes that Tibet is attempting a secession, it does not justify violence against unarmed “citizens”. I hope that our goverment excercises more restraint when New Mexico and Arizona secede in about 10 years from the Reconquista movement(said only partially tongue-in-cheek).

The U.S. is in no position to criticize China for anything in the current economic climate we’re in. China is keeping the USD from completely collapsing. The Bush administration, or any administration for that matter, is not going to jeopardize plunging the economy into immediate depression.

One minor observation, the US State Department belongs to no president; they operate entirely on their own terms demanding whoever is president bend to their will.

Just because it’s in the US, the State Department doesn’t necessarily side with America.

Plus, if you work in the US State Department is impossible to get fired.
