ok, Ms McNamara may not be all that smart, but one would think that her bosses, you know, the EDITORS should have caught that little gem.

Did you also see Micheal Crowley's piece in the Observer this a.m.?--In a piece attacking the GOP for winning elections by "attacking" the character of Dems presidential candidates he writes that Bush won in 2004 in spite of torture in Iraq and "the stench of bodies still floating in New Orleans"---There have been numerous comments pointing out the fact of 2005 as the year Katrina hit----But why let the facts get in the way of a good story--Especially where Bush is concerned--

Ah, it's all so simple. The folks who write for the LA Times live in an alternate universe, so, in their temporal plane of existence, George Washington really did serve only one term!

Need I add that, in the same alternate universe, Jimmy Carter served two terms and is now Ambassador to the United Nations, California has been returned to Mexico as a "token of good will," and Jerry Lewis is universally acclaimed as the comedic genius the French always said he was.

Thanks for bringing this up Rick - I saw the same thing this morning and just shook my head. I can't say it confirmed my low opinion of the Times - I read the paper with a jaundiced eye...
