Conservatives have despised the NY Times with good reason for ages, but don't you think that more people of whatever political persuasion are getting their news over the net anyway?

"He Hate Me"---- Your comment about liberals not supporting Air America is very on point. Talk Radio is a very different media than reading a newspaper because of the ability to participate. I've only called one in my life, but I do enjoy the banter and comments. Liberals have been bitching and moaning about talk radio for a good few years and when they finally get an opportunity to have their own program they refuse to step up to the plate to salvage it. I guess they still have NPR to console them.

Breaking news:

In a dramatic, unexpected development Pinch Sulzberger today announced that he was strategically redeploying the New York Times to Okinawa. "We will continue to publish, but will henceforth maintain an over-the-horizon presence, the better to maintain a light carbon footprint, rapidly react to events, and remove a root cause, which has led to us being hated both at home and abroad."

Yeah, Barry, that's right. We conservatives are just too stupid to think for ourselves. Whatever O'Reilly et al say is gospel to us. After all, if it works for liberals and Moveon org., why not for us?

Rick, sorry, no contribution to the NYT, not now, not ever. You got to get your material somewhere else. I suggest the Boston rags, the LAT, or Seattle. Still plenty of pathetic stuff daily from those folks. Substitute CNN's Soledad O'Brien for Maureen Dowd.

Hmm... I didn't think conservatives actually READ the New York Times. I thought they just got outraged about it when Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and/or Sean Hannity told them to.

What I don't understand is why the local moonbats who agree with the Slimes don't support it and countless other echo chamber dead tree media. The local papers here in s. Fla. parrot the party line and I would imagine also have their money woes. The Sun-Sentinel offers me seven days of their rag for $1 a week and the Palm Beach Post similar bargains, but only way I'd be interested would be if they paid ME for the privelege of receiving their tiresome opinion masquerading as news.
Ditto for the leftwing fever swamp not supporting Air America. Hey guys, we on the right already support with taxes such fine institutions as Bill Moyers' PBS and the illustrious NPR, NEA, etc. I think 1/3 of Planned Parenthood monies comes from taxpayers. So why not just have Congress pay the NT Times, Boston Globe, AirAmerica whatever tax dollars would keep them thriving? We manage to subsidize ethanol corn production, sugar, tobacco and so on.

An even better idea would be for self-identified limo libs such as Huffington, Obama, Ted Kennedy et all being levied a tax to support the paper of record.
