You’re right on your main points but I don’t think it matters because…

a. Obama learned from the Wright business and is now throwing them under the bus quickly so the fuss doesn’t linger
b. the media doesn’t bring it up after they get thrown under the bus so it doesn’t sink in for the general public (the majority who AREN’T following the campaign closely, reading the blogs and so on).

Of course, McCain will not get such kindly treatment…

Reynolds believes that the fact that McCain is so well known and Obama not, is a disadvantage to McCain. For some reason, he believes that as the masses learn more and more about Obama, the 2 point lead he has now will grow.

I believe the opposite. Nobody is going to be surprised by McCain- he is a well-known entity. On the other hand, as we trek towards November, the masses will come to know Obama better. I predict this familiarity with his associations and judgment will make it a very close race. I’m not sure it will be enough, though.

All I can say is we better snap out of it before we elect the most incompetent, the most naive, and perhaps the most dangerous man ever to run for the office of the president.

Post #18,284 in which a conservative blogger tries to terrify us with the specter of Obama. I figure we’re about two weeks away from desperate righties accusing Obama of being a flesh-eating zombie. I mean, seriously, does the man eat human flesh? Because I’ve heard there’s a videotape somewhere of Obama snacking on a very suspicious-looking thigh bone. Maybe you and Captain Ed can locate it.

Your hero H.L. would have sniffed this guy out before he even declared his candidacy. He would have turned this hypocritical jackanape into ground meat and cooked him for lunch.

Guys like Mencken used to be the real gatekeepers in this country. Pity the press is more cheerleader than vetter these days.
