IS OBAMA FAILING TO WIN BECAUSE OF RACE?
Interesting article, however it would be even more interesting to see the same kind of analysis if the black candidate was Colin Powell, or Condelza Rice. If the black candidate had more experience, and didn't vote present over 100 times ... was not so far to the left ... did not propose such radical changes to our society, such as a socialistic agenda ... did not have negative associations, such as 20 years tied to a Reverend Wright, and other radicals ... Threw his close friend of 20 years under the bus for personal gain ...did not have a Muslim name, father and step father, just 6 years after 9-11, and while America, and it's allies is in the midst of constant attacks from murderous Muslim terrorists ... was properly vetted from the beginning ... did not enjoy such overwhelming biased favoritism from the media ... did not arrogantly create his own Presidential seal ... did not disrespect historical American institutions, and traditions, as a way of selling his Change message ... did not use accusations of race in response to every opposing argument ... did not flip flop on important issues ... chose Hillarry as his running mate ... as well as several other substantive factors.

What a surprise. Obama goes 18 months of a campaign without pulling the race card, then he mentions it once at a fundraiser and you come down on him like it's his identity. If race isn't such a sore spot for you, then why do you react so violently towards it when it encompasses about 1/10000th of the material he's said in the past week? Just take a look at your column:

Barack Obama used his race
He is the oppressed minority.
oppressed minorities in this country
Anything they define as racism is accepted
black man
black president?
racial charlatan
the color of his skin
Rev. Al Sharpton
race-baiting Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Fr. Michael Pfleger. someone struggling to suppress his own prejudice

Can you try any harder to create an "us" versus "them" mentality here? I don't really await your response, because it's predictable. "Look, look, the commenter is doing exactly what I thought he would!" You mean you make a post that tries to mock minorities while identifying Obama with them much stronger than he has ever identified himself as such, and we're not supposed to call it what it is?

What the fuck do you think a political race is all about except "us versus them" you nitwit? You Obama people scare the shit out of me - looking for a world where everyone agrees about everything - just as long as what people agree on is what you think.

Obama is the one who is playing identity politics - and doing so for the most anti-democratic, dictatorial reasons imaginable; he wants to inoculate himself against any criticism at all. Your candidate's skin color isn't at issue; it's the thickness of his skin. He can't stand people disagreeing with him.

You have an authoritarian, anti-democratic mindset that makes you more dangerous than Nixon, Bush, and any other 5 presidents put together. Get your head out of your ass and recognize the fact that there are two sides in this debate. Believe what you want but don't dismiss your opponents as racists or "dividers" of the American people when their only crime is that they disagree with your political views.

That is another key indicator of being a ‘racist’; if you base your vote on the race or ethnic background of a candidate, for or against.

Another possible sign you are a racist is that you find it impossible to imagine any reason fthat any white could possibly vote for him except out of "white guilt" and that the only reason blacks vote for him is the color of his skin.

Sure, because its impossible that people might actually think that the guy is actually qualified. No, that would be impossible.

Maybe the Republican retort should be we are not interested in the color of your skin but the content of your character.

This would mean a lot more if so many of you didn't insist on seeing "evidence" of bad character in the most mundane and innocuous behaviors of people with different skin colors.

I disagree with the interpretation of Wright's comments as being "racist." They were merely repetition of standard liberal dogma, which I have personally heard many times from the mouths of white folk -- minus the "goddamn," of course, because they are secularist.
Attacking Wright's remarks as being racist entails the risk of being called one yourself. But attacking them for being superliberal dogma, repeated as they are, in every major liberal university town in America, now that's fair game, and easy pickins, too.

RE: Judging Thinks

"If you are CERTAIN that based on Rev. Wright’s sickening commentary that Barack Obama would be a President that agrees with Wright’s vomit-worthy pronouncements, then you are prejudiced. There’s as much to point to that indicates the opposite of that, as there is that would indicate that he actually is radicalized alongside Wright." -- MikeDevx

Hardly. Senator Obama sat through all the vitriol for 20 years. One can surmise, rather effectively, that he either agreed with what the 'good' Reverend was saying or he was balancing his checkbook at the time. Or maybe he was simple 'asleep'.

There's no 'prejudice' in any of those thoughts. Simple observation. And it has nothing to do with his skin color either.

So....what's your point? Are you projecting 'prejudice' or something else?

Regards,

Chuck(le)
P.S. I'd see some Aryan Nation character who attended the 'good' reverend Phelps' church in the same manner.

Was he asleep or what?

MikeDeux.

There is a world of difference between what is a intellectual exercise - promoting the gold standard - and listening to speeches designed solely to create and amplify racial tensions. A decent person would leave the company of a "mentor" who consistently spewed things the decent person found morally objectionable.

WEll, you can't judge everyone based on a few personal observations of a few people, but here goes.

I grew up in the Detroit area, and racial attitudes between blacks and whites were hardened. Among those 30 years old+, I believe the antagonism persists. And that's among both blacks and whites.

Blacks want "one of their own" to be President - and this is apparently true not just in Detroit but across the country. At least among those whites that I know, there is significant resistance to him because he is black. And these are liberal Democrats I am talking about! They're not really paying attention to the primaries or election politics yet. This resistance is based on the virulently racist rants of Rev. Wright and Obama's closeness to it.

I would say that racial politics are all around us on both sides, but I would not call people's voting plans "racist". Prejudiced, yes. Racist, no.

If you are CERTAIN that based on Rev. Wright's sickening commentary that Barack Obama would be a President that agrees with Wright's vomit-worthy pronouncements, then you are prejudiced. Or I can put it this way: I tend to be an Ayn-Randian Libertarian. I am VERY comfortable listening to people rant and rave about needing to return to the gold standard. Yet, were I President, I would never even bring it up, nor would I ever act upon that preference for the gold standard. I should not be judged as intending to implement the gold standard, simply by enjoying being around people who advocate for the gold standard. It's a prejudice-based mistake.

Is there no law against slander? The false accusation of racism against a person is slander. This plank of the Democrats' campaign must be broken as unconstitutional and slanderous.
