I don’t think they ever say “Democrat”…and, on David Palmer’s bio on the 24 site, no party affiliation is given…I could be wrong…haven’t seen that season in a few years, but I don’t recall either the D or the R words used.

But I agree that political analysis doesn’t really make sense here. After all, the whole Keeler to Logan to Gardner transition (where we’re supposed to believe that America had three Presidents over the course of 4 years) is something that has never happened in American history and likely never will

On the Walker thing, are we supposed to believe that Bill/Chloe still had Jack wired when she was shot ? There wasn’t that much on-screen evidence of that, but I guess it’s possible.

It’s also worth noting that, right now, we’re still watching shows that were written and filmed before last year’s writers strike. As I understand it, the “new” post-strike content starts with Episode 9.

On the political affiliations…uh…I dont’ think anyone shoud read too much into that. Why is it necessary to assume that David and Wayne Palmer were necessarily Democrats? Why can’t they just all be of some nameless, faceless party? Personally, I would find it hard to believe that a guy like Noah Daniels could get the Veep nod in the same party that was nominating Wayne Palmer. I think you need to suspend analysis a little bit here.

At the very beginning when Bill and Chloe rescue Agent Walker, they say that Jack told them where to find her.

When did that happen ? We certainly didn’t see Jack do it on screen, and it’s hard to believe that he would have been able to call Bill or Chloe while sitting in a delivery truck with Emerson and his goons.

Before they left “CTU East” as I call their hideout in Washington, Chloe affixed a listening device to Jack.

But that still doesn’t explain how they knew exactly where to go to find Renee.

No, Daniels was Wayne Palmer’s VP. He took over after Wayne was incapacitated during a fairly implausible terrorist attack inside the White House itself. Then, he took over again after Wayne’s recover proved short-lived. Palmer was never shown as dying on screen, but the fact that Daniels was President when Taylor took over would indicate than he never did.

Charles Logan’s Vice-President was Hal Gardner who took over at the end of Season 5 when Logan was arrested.

We know Logan was a Republican because he was VP to John Keeler, who ran against, and apparently defeated, David Palmer after the end of Season 2.

David Palmer was a Democrat and, presumably, Wayne, who served as his Chief of Staff for a time, was as well.

That means Daniels was a Democrat and Taylor is a Republican.

I think his wife killed him.
