Taking the bailout is a simple business decision with consequences. One consequence is government supervision. Don't want the supervision? Don't take the handout!! You want a government check? Show up every other Tuesday between 11:00 and 11:45. Get the occasional drug test. Don't like the requirements? Stay home and don't collect the check. Simple Any business that can not run itself without hand outs can go into bankruptcy. The strings being attached to the bailouts are ATTACHED TO THE BAILOUTS. Any business can cut the government strings by not accepting the bailouts. Simple. All this money needs more strings!!! Not less!!! Saying anything else, even in jest, is disingenuous.
