We are businessmen living in Turkey,

The liberal economy and the trading and commercial relations between commercants in Turkey are carried out by means of paper cheques. The banks give empty paper cheques to their customers and the commercants use these paper cheques in trading of goods and services by writing 6 months, 1 year or longer period of maturity on them. The trade in Turkey is carried out by means of post-dated cheques.
The financial crisis in the world has had profund influences in our country and the commercants have become not able to pay their post-dated cheques.
As per our country’s laws, the businessmen are punished with prison penalty due to those unpaid paper cheques. As the commercants in Turkey, we are facing sanctions that are contrary to the Universal Law Principles.

Mr. Obama is at 55% overall...

Where does that come from?

I can't find any recent poll or other index that indicates he's at 55%. All the recent ones I'm finding put him at 50 or lower. Got a link we can check out?

Obungle obviously lusted for this job. He begged for it, he drooled over it and he over promised like a good little community organizer.

His walk-on-water arrogance projected a sense of invincibility and the suckers swallowed his irresistible hustle of Hopium.

Continuous whining, blaming others and failing to produce is a sign of weakness that Axlerod's well-crafted imagery, teleprompters and recent church-like oratories fail to mask. How embarrassing for poor Obungle.

Members of his own party are now running away, many with his fresh doggie poop on their tasseled loafers. I Don't think that will scrape off by November. Now he loses lil' Kruggie?

Who knew?

I admit Mr. Obama has had some difficulty mopping up the giant, steaming pile of manure your party left behind.

But disaster?

We were staring at a depression. Not a recession, an honest-to-God, 1930's depression. And now we aren't.

We were looking at a complete financial system meltdown. And now the system is stable.

We have no inflation.

The dollar has stabilized.

The stock market is over 10,000 after a huge rally I wish I'd invested more in.

We are carrying out our Iraq withdrawal in an orderly fashion.

We have stepped up the war against Al Qaeda.

We have at least temporarily staved off looming disaster in Afghanistan. And Mr. Obama has secured more NATO support.

Mr. Obama is at 55% overall, and over 80% among Democrats, despite appointing unpopular centrists to dominant roles at Treasury, despite taking a very moderate stance on banking reform, despite disappointing Lefties who thought he'd run from Afghanistan, despite disappointing the left so far on gay rights.

And as usual, Rick, you've let ideology and your own emotions blind you to reality. The reality is that we are far, far better off today than we were under your party. And infinitely better off today than we'd have been under an increasingly disconnected Mr. McCain and the Wasilla Wonder.

Dear Rick

I think we need to start a new topic comparing and contrasting the Carter administration vs the Obama administration because that appears to be the next discussion point that will coming down the tracks.

His upcoming State of the Union will be interesting to see how much blame he takes for the current state of our union. Will he invoke the Gerald Ford model? More likely we will hear about how things happened that he did know about and did have enough information and do not blame me.

As far as the future namely 2012 assuming the current trends stay in place a big if I concede. Who in any of the two major parties has the ability to replace the current President if necessary? I cannot think of anyone offhand and that is my biggest worry.

Robespierre is reputed to have said: "I must see which way the crowd is headed, for I am their leader."

The difference between Robespierre and Obama is at least Robespierre was actually trying to see where the crowd was going.
