OBAMA'S "CHALLENGER MOMENT" AT FORT HOOD

It's like you have battered-blogger syndrome. You just keep coming back for more.

It's a good thing you didnt post this over at PJM.

Oh, and also, nice piece.

I don't get it. I don't agree with 98% of what Obama is trying to do and because I think he rose magnificently to a state occasion and gave a great speech that makes me...what?

I mean, I used to read grudgingly good reviews of Reagan's speeches back in the day from the left. The Challenger speech especially was universally well received. Why should I have to walk on pins and needles because on this one occasion, I think the president did a good job?

Anyone who would take me to task for this has some serious problems.

A RELATIVELY SHORT FOLLOWUP TO MY PJ MEDIA ARTICLE ON BI-PARTISANSHIP

he same thing happened on this site where a lot of people who used to comment favorably on the stuff I write have given up because of you and Bottoms and a few others who trash them personally for their views.

A good old fashioned Reynolds smack down here is infinitely more intelligent and coherent than what's up on the board over there at PJM. Reading those comments made me feel like I was watching interviews with the tea party protesters on the television news.

SHOULD THE GOP HELP THE DEMOCRATS GOVERN?

Michael Reynolds said:

Mr. Bush got EVERY penny he asked for, EVERY man he asked for, and EVERY weapon he asked for, and he got them from the Democrats. You contemptible fraud.

You know why? Because war is fucking AWESOME.

D-DAY FOR HEALTH CARE TODAY

Until you have been out in the market trying to deal with these people one-on-one you have no idea what is going on.

I'd also like to add the immense joy one gets from having to battle an insurance company while your six year old lies dying in a hospital bed. If that doesn't make you enjoy your liberty, you're not a true American.

THE HOPELESS BANALITY OF THE BLOGOSPHERE

I would rather be accused of waiting until the facts are in before making a judgment like that.

Not jumping to conclusions is SO booooorrring. This is the internet Rick, get with the times.

FINALLY! Something we can all agree on.

I want to have a Right Wing Nuthouse meetup. All the alcohol is on me. Michael Reynolds, you're in charge. Make sure Gayle shows up.

Translation: “Let’s avoid the unpleasant reality and establish a moral equivalency after someone claimed this was one-sided.”

What exactly is the moral equivalency? Democrats can be bigots too? Like anyone is afraid to say this? Democrats who voted the same way are bigot douchebags. Nobody is hiding behind anything. The point is the majority in that vote were bigot douchebags. There just happens to be more Republican bigot douchebags than Democrat bigot douchebags.

Your finger pointing justification of 'they did it too' is lame. Not because Democrats can be bigots too, but simply because I was talking about you at the time. Twisting, distracting, and finger pointing don't serve well as denials of the facts, just denials of the reality that the party you associate with is full of people not worth associating with.

Neither of those bother me. Main bothers me. It makes me ashamed of Mainers.

Couldn't agree more. When I saw the photos of the Republicans rejoicing and praising god for what they'd just done, it made me nauseous.

I was also amazed at how the bigotry was covered by the media. It was as though these two groups of people were having a rational discussion.

Thanks GOP. The money you vomited into Maine for this election season worked. Thanks churches. Your army of idiot reverends and priests led a good fight to take away rights from people who genuinely love each other.

Congratulation on your party, Republicans. I know how proud you are. Very Jesus-like. This should not be how humans are treated. Period.

DOES THE GOVERNMENT THINK YOU'RE STUPID? OR A CHILD?

Michael Reynolds, you are absolutely 100% correct. I'll even take that a step further though, and throw in the amazing "Financial Innovation" called the No Income, No Asset Verification Mortgage.

Imagine the surprise of the financial institutions when they basically said, come on in, lie to us, and we'll give you FREE FUCKING MONEY... (for a commission, of course) and people actually came in and did it.

There's your financial crisis right there. Oh, but lets blame the people for taking the money. What the hell difference does it make though, as long as everyone up the chain got their commission on the mortgage, or, further up, their financial innovation.

Give me some time though, and I'll figure out a way to blame ACORN for this.

Financial innovation. This is another way of saying, lets put an addition on the house of cards.
