THE GATHERING STORM

Tony Lafauce in post 18 above covered a lot of ground. I can only add this.

Logan must have an enforcer with him at the WH West. Probably the Secret Service guy he has holding Martha. This will be the guy that killed Walt Cummings and is someone Logan believes is loyal to him alone. This guy will be Mr. Bigs inside man who will be tasked with killing Logan when the "tape" cannot be destroyed and Mr. Big sees Logan as a liability now not an asset. Aaron or Martha may save Logan and he then spills the beans on Mr. Big. Jack then goes after Mr. Big.

I'm still wondering who Mr. Big and company are? They appear to be maybe 35 to 40 years old which is quite young to have so much power. I would have expected them to be late 50s or 60s to get to such a height. There maybe another level yet to be revealed.

All in all a great season this year.

HARDBALL

Sorry to have this comment not related to last nights episode. I had to tape it and won't be able to watch it till tonight(tuesday).
I saw this news item,Terrorists Recruiting 'White Muslims', and thought about the discussions on how all the terrorists are not muslim arabs but white guys. Maybe 24 is just ahead of the curve.

5 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT

It's going to be a wild ride this season.
A couple of things I wonder about, Henderson knows Logan is involved. Bierko knows Henderson is involved. But does Bierko know Logan is in the plot? I suspect not and that Henderson is the buffer between Logan and everyone else. That makes Henderson the fall guy unless something happens to change the record that he was ever wanted for terrorism. I also realize that with Logan in the terror plot any info that CTU got from other agencies could be disinformation. A house of mirrors indeed.

NOT THE USUAL SUSPECTS

One of the things I wonder about is since Logan only became President because of the shoot down of Air Force One, does this conspiracy (between Logan and Henderson) go back to that time period. In the 5 years of Babylon 5 many things were foreshadowed in earlier seasons. When first viewed they would be seen in one way but later revelations would put an entirely different twist on them. I would love it if the writers of 24 are doing that too.

My private (to myself) guess about who was working with Henderson was wrong. I was thinking the First Lady because why else would she be married to such a wimp.Love can be strange but I couldn't see her falling in love with the guy with the dishrag spine. Now that he is revealed to have a spine his wife must have known all along that he wasn't this weakling. Her displeasure may have been from watching him be so weak and wondering what had happened to the man she had married. I expect I'll have to look at the 4th season again to see if any clues to Logan's behavior are revealed there.

A BATTLE OF WITS

I still really enjoy the show and this site along with blogs4bauer.

The 24 usenet groups have too much noise and to little signal.

As far as anal-yzing 24 to death, we are a long ways from what I saw on the usenet boards during the run of Babylon5 or the discussions about the meaning(s) of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

So Centox is destroyed by the heat of burning natural gas. That means that releasing it thru the gas pipelines would have had it all burn up in everyone's homes. NG pipes are very unlikely to have leaks so it all would end up in a flame at 1000 to 2000 degrees centigrade.
This, the fact that Henderson and Bierko are working together and Colette having got the plans in advance makes me think that their plan was never to have large numbers of people killed. Dozens they accepted but thousands they seem to have ruled out by the design of the Centox packaging and where they placed it. CTU it would seem was their main target or perhaps Jack. The gas was perfect to destroy the seals that CTU had and Henderson would have known what they had and of course the plot to get the keycard was another that had to have been thought out well in advance.
I also think that, like season 1, the moles will be in pairs. One the "duped" mole like Jamey and one the "deep" mole like Nina. Cummins was the "duped" at the White House and Cloey's one night stand was the "duped" at CTU. Remains to be seen if Audrey is the "deep" at CTU and the "deep" at the White House probably faked Cummins suicide like Nina did Jamey.

OF TURF BUILDING AND CARVING OUT KINGDOMS

While I was typing I see eric beat me to the punch about Ray Wise having played Leland Palmer.

With all the computer hacking hijinx that go on I can see somebody impersonating Audrey. Call it identity theft. I don't recall Collete saying she met the person calling herself Audrey in person.

Logan may not want to go anywhere near Airforce 1 during a terror attack after what happened to President Keeler. Logan likes bunkers best IIRC.

The real enemy will turnout to be the VP who is actually "Killer Bob". We will know for sure when the first lady turns up "Wrapped in Plastic"

The distribution of Centox via natural gas will work if Centox is not harmed in the combustion process of natural gas. It would then spew from every hot water heater vent that received the tainted gas and slowly build up it's concentration in the city. LA being a basin, it would be like smog and stay there. Other gas fired things (industrial furnaces and heaters) would also add to the concentration but I think water heaters being so common would be a major source.
