OBAMA DROPS PRE-EMPTIVE RACE BOMB

This is not unexpected and is actually not new.

He used the same technique to defeat the Clintons. Claim your above dirty politics, all the while playing as dirty or dirtier then your opponent. Then play the race card in response to a perceived slight making it thus preventing any future attacks that the media will be more then happy to jump on!

I call it preemptive disarming of your opponent and he used it masterfully to neuter the Clintons (http://rotstar.blogspot.com/2008/05/how-obama-neutered-clintons.html)!

He started Memorial Day when he his campaign attacked McCain for, "political posturing," even as Obama was political posturing.

WHAT JOE WILSON'S LIES HAVE WROUGHT

Great post!

You are mixing your quotes up though. Churchill said, "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."

"A lie can travel halfway round the world while the truth is putting on its shoes."
- This quote has been attributed to Mark Twain, but it has never been verified as originating with Twain. This quote may have originated with Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-92) who attributed it to an old proverb in a sermon delivered on Sunday morning, April 1, 1855. Spurgeon was a celebrated English fundamentalist Baptist preacher. His words were: "A lie will go round the world while truth is pulling its boots on."

"ANTI-MILITARISM" OR JUST PLAIN SILLY?

"The U.S. was always much stronger then it's Soviet adversary," is misleading at best and, depending on what the author it actually referring to could be considered just false.

The Soviets held a huge advantage in conventional forces which is one reason many in Europe were against the reduction of nuclear arms and the INF treaty (Thatcher for one).

But you can't quite tell what he means. Of course you could just say we were stronger morally - but I am sure he didn't mean that.

Oh, and in another chapter he discusses total military spending vs. the cost of everything in the U.S. but fails to mention that without our stong military we most likely wouldn't have all of the things mentioned.
