So instead of creating a world wide empire out of the debris of Europe and Asia we rebuilt it. Yes we had some motivation beyond being benevolent, but what other country has pledged its treasure to restoring countries that we knew would provide competition against us; and we are doing it again in Iraq (and no free oil for us) and Afghanistan, but hey, Mrs. (and Mr.?) Obama are not proud of that feature of our bitter and frustrated rural, redneck, middle class blue collar Americans in flyover country. The world may not remember well nor do the liberals, but I and millions of people like me do.
