WHY PUBLIC TV FAILS THE PUBLIC
Great post. I read the article, with disgust, this morning about the Islam piece.
My husband is in the oil biz and we are quite used to being smacked by the likes of PBS.
That said, NOVA has been one of my husband's favorite shows since it began years ago. He's a science nerd and knows quality programming.

A LONG, THOUGHTFUL CONVERSATION WITH MY CATS
I love this post! It's so much fun. I'm thinking my Oreo is an independent. He doesn't want to be pinned down on anything, just goes with the flow. He does have that disturbing little black patch of fur directly under his nose, though.
Now, Max the dog, is the perfect companion. I talk and he listens, occassionally cocking his head to indicate interest in a conversational point.

INTERNAL REFUGEE CRISIS LOOMS IN IRAQ
When my husband was in Iraq, at the end of 2002, he developed friendships with some Iraqi collegues. Since then, many of them have fled to Jordan, or at least their families have. Some are in Michigan now. My husband just spoke with one colleague last night who will hear tomorrow if his application for residency will be approved. The husband wrote a letter of character reference for him to use with his application.

I watched the Senate votes on C-SPAN today. Then I caught the House Appropriations committee markup session. (Yeah, I'm a wonk). The Dems may regret these shenanigans in the not too distant future.

McConnell is showing much stronger leadership than in recent times.
What a brave, strong woman. My thoughts are with Sue today. Losing your mother is difficult, especially for women, I unfortunately know.

Your words of love for Sue are quite touching.
WHAT JOE WILSON'S LIES HAVE WROUGHT
Great post, Rick. Love the Churchill quote at the end.

This trial for a non-crime was a travesty. Scooter can't be pardoned soon enough for me.
WAPO SLAMS MURTHA'S "SLOW BLEED THE TROOPS" PLAN
I get a little nervous when the WaPo publishes a blast I agree with. Considering their editorializing of late, did Hell freeze?

"ANTI-MILITARISM" OR JUST PLAIN SILLY?
The introduction is indeed entertaining. I am sorry to say that my teenage son, in an AP U.S. History class this year, was required to buy and use Zinn's book. I wanted to puke. I feel so unclean sending any money to his bank account.

As I noted on my blog post today, my husband asked me yesterday morning if I would support Guiliani. My answer is, yes, in a heartbeat. The Dems are frantic that Rudy will run, as he consistently polls the winner in a race against Billary.

In the dangerous world we live in today, we need a leader worthy of our trust.
I know many conservatives will have to suck it up and vote for him, but it must be done instead of folks sitting this one out. I sure don't want another 8 years of the Clintonistas.
