A LONG GOODBYE

Cats Aren't Humans Said:
11:19 am

It’s just a stupid cat, and you can probably find another one in a garbage can near you. Me friggin ow.

But at least cats display far more human qualities than the hominid life form which produced the above response to stimuli.

JONAH GOLDBERG NEEDS A PIE IN THE FACE (METAPHORICALLY SPEAKING OF COURSE)

Rick, another outstanding commentary.

[quote]Wipe out the whole village and raise it to the ground.[/quote]

Wipe out the whole village and [i]raze[/i] it to the ground? ;)

(Without a preview feature in the comment dialogue, I'm only guessing BBcode is recognized.)

Well, at least Castro hasn't posed a direct threat to the USA since JFK sent the Navy to turn those "fishing trawlers" around.

In my view, Goldberg understates the left's love affair with Castro as mere "tolerance." The tenor and cadence of their praise would suggest Castro is worshiped as a god, even within moderate sects of Liberalianity. Never mind that he dripped red rather than gleamed white during his transfiguration.

There's more to say, but don't want to go much further until it's known whether BBcode is recognized.

Cheers,
Chip

IF BUSH GOES "ALL IN," I'M WITH HIM

The mad/rad left was in a frenzy a while back over the retired generals who were being publicly critical of Bush/Rummy, assailing them for putting an insufficient number of boots on the ground at various points in the campaign.

Of course the implications of the generals' statements are that more recruits are needed to achieve success in Iraq, but the mad/rad left is so preoccupied with bashing the administration and inflating the recent slight electoral shift into a mandate that they've yet to realize these generals are speaking to all Americans, not only to Bush supporters.

It's amazing what is considered to be reasonable and logical in LibWorld, where Bush really isn't the president, somebody else's war is being fought in Iraq, a Republican/corporate conspiracy exists for every occasion and it is only conservatives who are being intolerant.

BRAMMERTZ ZEROING IN ON ASSASSINS OF HARIRI

B.Poster,

Bingo. It's hard to find a trouble spot in the world where eliminating a rogue militia or two wouldn't lay the groundwork for a lasting peace there, and make us all safer in the process.

SOY IN THE BOY GIVES HIM CURLS LIKE A GIRL

Perhaps so, Sarg, but there is much more weeping and gnashing of teeth coming out of the lefty blogosphere. They must be practicing. ;)

REDEMPTION FOR WONDER DOG - FOR THIS WEEK ANYWAY

Hey Rick,

Can't wait to get your take on "Tank."

Apparently one can take the boy outta the 'hood, but not the 'hood outta the boy.

Chip

P.S. Another tag test, HTML this time.
P.P.S. Let's see if the far-sighted lefty Bigot Watch Brigade flips out over the term "boy" being used.

TWICE A VICTIM

For someone who was "coerced," Jill Carroll certainly went above and beyond the call of duty in her taped statements. She even giggled at times. I've seen people give coerced statements, Michael Durant for one. It's not necessary to prattle on for paragraphs, giving the enemy more than they could have hoped for.

Given her apparent enthusiasm for, and voluminous, propaganda, the best I can say about Carroll's denial is inadequate.

After so many fake kidnappings, from the Japanese to Sgrena and Osthoff, it's not exactly surprsing the blogosphere reacts negatively to seeing yet another westerner doing the the bidding of the mujahideen.

BLOOD IS THICKER THAN POLITICS

Kudos to your brother for going on the Hugh Hewitt show. He did give as good as he got. That kind of open and pointed conversation is exactly what we need in our public debates, not the cowardly pompous questions and answers full of red herrings, false dilemmas, ad hominem innuendo, and false either/or problems we usually have to put up with.
