ARE THE RIGHTROOTS MORE CONSERVATIVE THAN REPUBLICAN?

The funny part about this eight year debacle is that there are no more Republicans left. Republicans now decouple themselves from the party and run like hell yelling "It's not my fault! I'm not a Republican, I'm a conservative!" at the top of their lungs. It's pretty pathetic.

You have no idea how bad I want...

"to elect honest and ethical candidates who espouse conservative values ."

Although the phrase "conservative values" is pretty subjective. I'd be happy with "not spending so much taxpayer money on stupid worthless crap."

OBAMA'S SENATE SEAT UP FOR GRABS

Governor Blagojevich will appoint himself to the senate seat, as he knows he will never again be elected to anything ever.

IS ALL THE ECONOMIC DOOM AND GLOOM JUSTIFIED?

Nagarajan Sivakumar,

"Dont look at those clueless rubes who bought homes that they could not afford and WORSE did not even KNOW that they could not afford it until the adjustable rate mortgages …ahem..adjusted."

No Nagarajan, I blame the smart people who lent them the money and KNEW they wouldn't be able to afford it. Destroying other peoples wealth, all in the name of making a few bucks.

The banks open their doors with stupid lending policies and you expect me to feel sorry for them when people line up and take the 'free' money? Blame the rubes for being stupid? Whatever. They walk away, while the corporate banks destroyed more wealth than is possible to comprehend. This IS the lenders fault. They could have stopped it. I don't blame the rubes for taking the money because, well, they're rubes.

"Is it any wonder most conservatives have given up on the MSM ? Their bias and agenda is so pukingly transparent."

Oh, hang on, let me just hop on over any other blog in existence, left or right, and read the exact same pissing and moaning about the MSM.

Sorry, but there's no such thing as conservatism anymore. It's dead. The Republicans destroyed it and now look what we've got.

WILL NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE KILL CONSERVATISM?

Heh, Jason, I think there are ways of quoting others and using italics in this blog, but there are no instructions for how you can format a comment. I did it once on accident. Anyone know what formatting options are available here?

OOGEDY-BOOGEDY AND BIBBIDI, BOBBIDI, BOO

Andy,

"Once communism was defeated..."

This is one of the biggest jokes ever played on the American people. America, aka Ronald Reagan, didn't defeat communism. Communism failed on its own because it's a stupid worthless system. It would have failed with or without the help of the United States. In fact, the US went out of its way to make communism seem so much worse because we knew it was failing, but needed a common enemy. An 'evil' to our 'good.'

"The millions of secular conservatives and religious moderates who had made up the backbone of the GOP fled in terror from the prospect of inquisitions and and pogroms – fostered by the left – and voted Democratic or stayed at home on election day."

Sure Rick. Either that, or they finally realized that their supposed party simply uses them for a guaranteed vote, then mocks and ignores them till the next election. It couldn't possibly be the fault of republicans that the republicans stayed home in droves. Complete nonsense.

CHENEY, GONZALEZ, AND HAM SANDWICH INDICTED BY CLOWN

Cheney's Texas indictment is a pretext for Bush to issue him a blanket pardon.

SUCKLING THE GOVERNMENT SUGAR TIT

I recently had a sit down with my Congressman. (Don Manzullo - R Ill)

I specifically asked him how much influence lobbyists have with him. He said that he would never find out about some issues, if not for lobbyists. He said, "how else am I supposed to find out what's going on?"

I fully understand the role of lobbying, but Manzullo didn't seem to want to differentiate between someone who is a paid corporate lobbyist, and someone, like me, who takes my concerns directly to him. I also kindly suggested the he read a newspaper or some news on the web from time to time to stay informed. He indicated that he had little time for this.

So, the question is then, is there a difference between me talking to him, and a paid corporate lobbyist talking to him? On the surface no, I guess not. But, I don't have the power do pull in campaign contributions on the scale that a corporate lobbyist does. I would think that would have some definite effect on who he would listen to, even if it is subconscious.

I dunno. I have mixed feelings on the issue.

Salt Lick,
"I haven’t heard anyone in government saying “Stop!” Is it because they know the citizenry/mob values security over freedom?"

I'm guessing that it's as simple as some of that money coming right back to them in the form of campaign contributions. Just a thought.
