BIAS? WHAT MEDIA BIAS?

Liberal Media Bias? Duh. Any conservative watching the networks or perusing the papers can see the bias, while, in my opinion, liberals have to work to feign that it doesn't exist, or worse, that the bias is the opposite of what it is: "I once saw something about something that proves you're wrong!" Then there's that automatic response: "But you have the Fox News Network!" Like liberals actually watch FNN for any length of time, or understand the difference between news and editorial content (if they did understand the difference they'd see the liberal bias in the news, but they don't, and they can't).

A few months ago I asked friends and family, "Who are the Republican candidates for President?" All I got were blank stares. There had been little network/newspaper coverage of Republicans at that point. They easily named every Democrat running because Hillary et al. were all over the news, 24/7.

I only asked the question because I already knew what the response would be, and I knew because I could see the bias as clear as day.

On a related note, my response to bringing back the fairness doctrine is: Bring it on! Conservatives are no longer going to accept liberal media bias as the status quo and the fairness doctrine would put the force of law behind their complaints. Every time liberal bias occurs (i.e., all day long) conservatives could file a complaint demanding a rebuttal, which would essentially paralyze the networks. Yes, liberals would do the same to Fox News and, their intended target, Rush -- but conservatives could shut down EVERYTHING ELSE!

OBAMA WILL SURRENDER MORE QUICKLY THAN HILLARY

"6Joe Helgerson Said:

... demonize the democrats ..."

I can't even believe you said that. There's a term for the irrational demonization of Bush, "Bush Derangement Syndrome." Every conservative from actors to politicians is subjected to relentless demonization. Apparently demonization is a standard tool for both sides, and apparently it works well enough.

As for the point about meeting with "enemies," I partially agree (though there are vast differences between the countries involved and the situations we're in then and now).

Kind of validates my opinion on those two; Obama's not experienced enough to be Presidential material (though he appeals to voters who prefer charisma to ability), while Hillary is (though I vehemently disagree with her politics).

Where he's naive, she's savvy. While he speaks before thinking (then has to backtrack), she's experienced enough to immediately spout the standard liberal gobbledygook (she can probably do it in her sleep).

THE ABOMINABLE MR. JOHNSON

It's ironic when a bully calls someone immature, it's chilling when they make threats, and it's indicative of possible psychosis when they are unaware, if not in denial, about such behavior.

MY 10 FAVORITE MOVIE VILLAINS OF ALL TIME

I also saw "Jaws" at the Chicago theater and it had a lasting effect on me too.

First anecdote: I lived in the 'burbs at the time (but grew up in Chicago). The day after seeing the movie I went out to the pool for a swim. I stood by the glistening water, and felt ... fear. Dread. I looked around, I'm still in the suburbs, I'm far from the ocean (I kept telling myself), yet, I felt fear. Strange, no? (I did go for a swim ... eventually.)

Second anecdote: Many years later I went with my SO and his kid to the Museum of Science and Industry for an exhibit on movie special effects. There was a full-size mock-up of the shark, and next to it a TV playing the scene where the guy slips down the deck and into the shark's jaws. Shuddering, I turned away, just in time to see that the "moc-kup" was animated! And there, in front of the thrashing jaw, was my SO's five-year-old, wide-eyed, frozen in place, catatonic. Oh Hell no! (Folks, watch your kids every freakin' minute!) I knew he realized how easily his diminutive body could slip into that gaping maw.

I know I have some leftover fears from things I've watched or seen as a kid (Twilight Zone episodes, for example), I can only imagine what he's going to remember from that scene.
