DEMOCRATS NARFLE THE GARTHOK

Filed under: Moonbats — Rick Moran @ 6:17 pm

Watching and reading how Democrats responded to George Bush’s State of the Union speech last night it suddenly dawned on me; they looked for all the world like the Coneheads, stranded on a planet where the native customs were totally alien to them and where they were unfamiliar with what would pass for good manners.

Of course, the fact that most Democrats have pointy heads only makes the comparison all the more apropos.

It really was a weird display. Hillary Clinton at times looked exactly like my 5 year old cousin trying to move his bowels, straining forward and grimacing as if she could use a spoonful or so of metamusil.

Old warhorse Barb Mikulski, dressed to the nines in a bright red suit, appeared to mouth the word “bullsh**t” following the President’s line “ If there are people inside our country who are talking with Al Qaida, we want to know about it, because we will not sit back and wait to be hit again,” proving to one and all that the Democratic party is unserious about domestic security. How to hide this weakness will preoccupy the moonbats for the rest of the election cycle as they struggle to find the right balance between sloganeering and outright lying.

Dapper Charlie Rangel appeared to be sucking lemons every time the camera found him. He reminded me of Mr. Brunberg, the curmudgeonly owner of the local Ben Franklin store where I grew up who, it was rumored, routinely feasted on the flesh of children who caused problems in his store.

Harry Reid (who probably has a federal prosecutor measuring him for a prison jumpsuit as I write this) played the contrarian as the entire chamber applauded the President’s acknowledgment of the two recent additions to the Supreme Court except him. Harry must have been sleeping during the civics class that covered respect for co-equal branches of government.

And who was that with ex-Clinton hit man Rahm Emmanuel? The man(?) with a bowl haircut, rings on all five of the fingers of his left hand, a scarf wrapped around his neck in the fashion of New York drama critic, and eyes that peered over glasses that had slid down to the end of his nose reminded me of Paul Benedict, the actor who played the snippy Mr. Bentley on The Jeffersons. Like I said…weird.

Then there was poor Joe Lieberman. Following the President saying “Iraqis are showing their courage every day, and we are proud to be their allies in the cause of freedom,” Fightin’ Joe stuck out like sore thumb as the only Democrat in the chamber who clapped. The scowling visage of my home state Senator Barak Obama sitting two seats away highlighted how the Democrats really felt every time the word “freedom” was mentioned. In fact, that seemed to be a reoccurring theme emerging today as the Democrats across the country continue to belittle the thought that human beings are endowed at birth with certain natural rights, the free exercise thereof being squashed by governments all over the world. I found this from Tim Graham at the Corner:

Driving in, I had to sample some “progressive talk” on the SOTU. At the Stephanie Miller Show, they were laughing about (and playing an audio montage of) how many times Bush used the “F-Bomb” last night. That’s their strange description of the word “freedom.” They also mocked the mentions of “liberty.”

And what in the name of God are the Democrats going to do about their friends at the Democratic Underground? Like a drunken brother in law that a host has to hide in the closet before the guests arrive for a formal dinner, serious party members - at least those who are serious about winning elections - ought to be fretting over things like this:

in_cog_ni_to: Has this ever happened to you? The Star Spangled Banner use to bring tears to my eyes. I would always choke up with pride when I heard the anthem. (before I learned how bad this freakin’ country is) and last night at my son’s wrestling meet, the school we were at played the Star Spangled Banner (that’s never happened at any other meet) and I found myself…..ANGRY BEYOND BELIEF! I WAS P*SSED THAT THEY PLAYED IT. P*SSED THAT I HAD TO LISTEN TO IT AND P*SSED THAT THE SHEEPLE STOOD THERE WITH THEIR HANDS ON THEIR HEARTS as if this country is something to be proud of. I was SHOCKED by my gut reaction. I was FURIOUS. It was so unexpected. Have any of you ever experienced that? It’s been YEARS since I’ve been at any event where the SSB was played and my reaction was so visceral. I-was-angry.

(HT: John Hawkins)

Read the rest of that thread for some real jaw dropping responses to the moonbat’s posting. It dramatically points up the dirty little secret Democrats are desperately trying to keep the rest of the country from finding out: they really don’t like the country of their birth very much. And since a recent poll showed that 85% of the people are indeed proud to be an American, if I were a Democrat I’d find some very deep and very dark hole to lure the moonbats at DU into - at least until after the November election.

The display of discourteousness, bad manners, and contempt by Democrats during the President’s State of the Union speech I guarantee did not go down well with independents. It may have been emotionally satisfying to their base. But it only makes it harder for the liberals to win over the very people that Republicans have spent the last year trying their best to alienate; unaffiliated voters whose choices will determine who controls both houses of Congress next January.

  2. One of the reasons the Iraq war has uphill all the way, is the climate of treachery, double dealing and outright dishonor that has characterized the activities of both the liberal media and many Democrat politicians.

Recently Hillary C appeared with Harry Belafonte after the latter returned from Caracas where he called the Bush “the world’s greatest terrorist” and yelled “viva la revolucion” to the delight of Chavez and his retinue of hoods.

These people have no shame, and any pride they have relates soley to their party and their twisted sense of priority.

  3. I couldn’t agree more Rick.
And Aiden has a very good and valid point:

Had the left joined the right with a unified voice regarding Iraq, I believe that we would be closer to our victory in Iraq with fewer casualties.

It is my firm opinion that the left has the blood of our bravest young men on their hands, all for the sake of political power and political revenge.

You will not see them defending themselves or this country until their spineless backs are hopelessly pressed against the wall of Islamist Fasicm. Even then I am doubtful of their motives.

  5. Well it seems that your mood has lightened some since yesterday.

The left will try to pull it together to sell themselves as moderates but there is too much out there now to prove otherwise, I went to the thread! What a$$hole$ they are and they think it’s a secret. I am sure someone has saved all the statements made by dems after the 2004 beating. i.e. making cruel fun of Red States. We should be seeing them in polical ads in next election. Like I said before, they believe that using their words against them is cheating.

  6. There wasn’t anything new really except for Bush saying about katrina than mentioning Aids and saying it was mostly suffered by “African Americans.”

The arrest than appology of Sheehan and the removal of the Repub from FL’s wife was classy too.

I think it would be weird to think Dems would suddenly stand up and applaud this BS.

  7. Coneheads? I think you mean Copperheads. And yes, the Democrats have a lot of the Copperhead mentality at present. Just ask Abraham Lincoln!

  8. Matt. Your tendancy to be a idiot is showing. You just proved you have no class, not manners and no upbringing. Are your parents proud that they reared an idiot?
Personally I always thought you showed respect for the office if not for the person in it. Guess that is long gone with the suck jobs Slick got in the white house and not from Hellary, she was busy serviceing their guest Ken Lay and the other billionaire criminals that were renting the white house for sex. See we still remember the disgrace the democrats became in the 90’s and the stink is still lingering throughout the party.

  13. Wake up and smell the roses you fools. What amazes me is that none of you seem to have mastered the vagaries of Google! A quick search on the ‘net on all things Bush would lead any intelligent person to conclude we are in real trouble here. The parallels between what the Bush administration is doing and what Hitler and his minions did is truly troubling. Fortunately for Hitler he had people just like you idiots who would follow him over any cliff lemming-like. Bush and his crew are common thieves. If you haven’t figured that out then I suggest you get some intelligent liberal to show you how to use Google. Matt is exactly right when he says he doesn’t want to support our war criminal president or live in a police state. I know I don’t! You dimwits have been played like fiddles! From your early religious indoctrination right on through to your belief in the “liberal” media! Check out the owners of the “liberal” media oulets if you can figure out how to use Google that is. Not a liberal among them. They and you are owned by corporate America and believe me when I say they don’t have our best interests at heart. I don’t expect many of you to actually use the energy required to do any research, after all that will take you out of your “comfort zone” but if you do you’ll be rewarded by knowing you’ve actually formed an opinion by yourself without having someone tell you what to think. Come on you can do it! THINK!

  14. I don’t have the time nor inclination to try and respond to a comment with so much jaw dropping idiocy but I might point out that telling people to “wake up” and to “think” usually indicates a mind so in love with its own stupidities as to be beyond saving.

  15. If the Republicans really want to clean up both this fall and in 08 it is imperiative for them to find a way to keep the DU and the Kos-kiddies in the spotlight for the populace who aren’t up to speed on the intricacies of the web. Far too many people assume that political discourse is civil and mature online.
There is a huge number of voters out there who would vote Republican if they understood the inordinate voice the far left has over the Democratic Party. Especially if they understood how far left the web has gone in the last few years.

Using that logic, JF Kennedy was the reincarnation of Abe Lincoln:

  20. I am an ex Democrat. And I expect never to vote for any other Democrat in my lifetime, no matter if it were Mother Teresa herself running. She would support the crazies, who have taken my Party into lunacy.

When I grew up Democrats used to say they “stood up for the little guy”. That was our proudest statment. Laughing and cheering that they sabotaged the saving of Social Security that the “little guys” depend on for two minutes of media notoriety, and being able to say “we beat GWB”! is truly pathetic.

If the the Republicans had half a brain they would replay that snipet from the SOTU a thousand times in their ads.

Democatats: “We stand ON the bankrupt pensions of the little guy”!

  21. American Soldier Said:
Strange, “in_cog_ni_to’s” “visceral” anger hasn’t yet prompted him to take his furious little self to the airport for a one-way trip out of the country he hates.

    Jackass Spotter says:
That’s because other countries won’t let people just move on in like we do. Our communities have changed from safe quiet neighborhoods to “single family homes that house 10-20 people who don’t care to speak the national language. People don’t understand me in my own country when I go to stores. You people are blinded by the government and don’t see the wars that are going on in our own towns. Exposing them just makes them cover their tracks even more. It’s not even just about the oil. Bush’s racist masterminds of thievery will rip off anybody any way they can. Iraq only provides us with 10% of our oil. Most of it comes from Canada. How come we haven’t invaded them yet? Bush will outsource the entire country until there are only the rich in castles and the poor that beg at the foot of the Whitehouse steps like in medieval times. We will become an entire country of slaves.

  22. The reason the internet is going left because its the last medium that they have left what with television and broadcasting companies in the hands of corperate america. Everyone is plugged into television stations that are ultimately influenced by those rightwing corperate agenda’s.

“Fox news gives you both sides of the story, the president’s side, and the vice president’s side” - stephen colbert

I love how all these local news devisions for fox and other news companies of the like spend 90 percent of their air time with cute stories about someone breeding puppies down the street, or the cool new phone that some company is releasing, and ignoring stories that matter, like how i was watching q 13 fox local news where they quickly mentioned that a major hotel company had its “laptop” stolen that contained all the private information of its customers, conveiniently reported 2 months after it was stolen, then they went on to do a 10 minute piece on a local cat breeder in redmond washington…

Filtering the real news so that it never gets to the viewers is a commen trend you see alot today. Kinda like how china stops people from visiting certain websites. But then again unfortunelty the most un-biased and relative news is found on the internet, but is immediately discredited by most people because “anything can be posted on the internet” so it cant be trusted. right? isnt that just perfect.

How bout you take an afternoon to surf some good internet resources and just take in facts, now this is gonna be hard for many of you, but take these facts, ignore what bill o riley says on the tv, and form your own opinion based on the facts, logic, and reasonable argument, throw that in with some compassion for your fellow human beings, and you just might realize how messed up this country is and where its going.
