The Republicans want to defund the president’s executive orders on immigration but are having a hard time making that happen. After easily passing the GOP House, a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security can’t get to the floor of the Senate because the GOP has stripped funding requests to implement the president’s immigration plans and Democrats refuse to consider it until the offending cuts are restored. This is a problem because funding will run out for DHS by the end of the month.
